i wish to carry out my own user identification using a login id & password checked against a local database of users.

once i validate the user, can i set the authentication state in code and then use the [Authenticated] tags to limit access?

i don't want to use Facebook etc to handle the login but handle it myself and then make use of the Authentication state.

How do i set authentication state in code?
